A few years ago, I started working with special needs kids. I also educate my two girls and play with my two nephews. The more we play, the more they learn. I don’t want kids to feel like they are stuck behind a desk learning. I want kids to be kids and learn at the same time. This got me thinking about education in a whole new light.
Many educators I have spoken with agree that play dough is a great sensory manipulative and counting bears are great for math. What if classrooms changed and took an out of the box approach – like teachers using the game RackO to excite children to learn numerical sequencing.
Little Lady Plays is a way for me to open up my world and share it with others. I would like to inspire others to move away from the traditional cookie cutter educational system and join me while we explore other options for kids to have fun playing and learning at the same time.
As we take our kids on a fall walk and make fall projects, I think we should also take beads and have kids make pattern necklaces during math class.
Lets take learning and education to the next level.
